Jessie J Shares Devastating Cancer Update Following Surgery

Fans of Jessie J ‘misinterpreted’ her cancer update post.
The singer announced that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer on June 4, with fans all around the world left devastated by the revelation.
Despite the diagnosis, the ‘Price Tag’ singer was still able to show up for her adoring fans and perform at Capital’s Summertime Ball festival on June 15.
Her shock diagnosis came as a result of the star being ‘in and out of tests’ for some time.
Jessie, who became a mom in 2023, explained on Instagram that she is hopeful about her diagnosis, given that it was found ‘early.’
She said: “Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early.’”
The star said she wanted to be open about her diagnosis in order to process it and to help others.

“I just wanted to be open and share it,” the ‘Bang Bang’ singer explained. “One, because, selfishly, I do not talk about it enough. I’m not processing it because I’m working so hard.
“I also know how much sharing in the past has helped me with other people giving me their love and support, and also their own stories. I’m an open book.
“It breaks my heart that so many people are going through so much similar and worse – that’s the bit that kills me.”
But following a recent post that the star made about the ‘pros’ and ‘cons’ of having mastectomy surgery, fans misinterpreted a vital fact about the situation.
Jessie followed the misunderstanding up with a separate post, clarifying what she meant.
She wrote: “I posted a list of pros and cons of having breast cancer surgery. The first pro I put was… the cancer has all gone.”

Following the mishap, the singer added: “This was a positive affirmation NOT a fact.
“I don’t have my results yet. I added the [fingers crossed emoji] in thinking people would understand and clearly a lot didn’t.
“A weird situation, my fault for not being clearer.”
However, she did give fans an update about where she is at in her journey.
The star added: “But for now I do not have my results after surgery which was only 6 nights ago.
“I pray it will be true soon but the journey of cancer isn’t that simple unfortunately.”
She added that she will now take a short break from social media, as she navigates the next steps.
“Tapping off socials for a week,” she said.
“Healthy and needed reset to focus on my recovery and saying stuff that gets twisted of misread.
“My head and b**b hurts. Lol, Bye. Always loveeeee.”
Other ‘pro’s’ she listed for having the procedure is that she could watch Love Island with ‘no guilt,’ as well as getting to chat with her friends ‘more than ever.’
