The New York Giants took two losses on Sunday.
The Commanders held New York to three points on two trips inside the 5-yard line as the G-Men failed to score a single touchdown all game long.
The offense gained just 231 yards, converted only 4-of-16 third downs, and showed no difference from that they were despite having Russell Wilson as their new quarterback.
For a new-look Giants team, things looked all too familiar.
For the fan base, the frustration has already set in.
Outside of Northwest Stadium, an argument between a New York Giants fan and two Commanders fans was steadily heating up.
Footage outside showed three men yelling at each other at the top of their lungs. One Commanders’ fan grabbed his friend and tried to get him to walk away from the irate Giants fan.
However, once the New York Giants fan advanced again, the two of them began to shove each other before fists flew. That Giants fan would soon find himself being jumped and laid out on the ground as the Washington fans continued to pursue violence against him.
The fan base fighting merely mirrors what Malik Nabers and Brian Daboll were doing during the game.
The New York Giants Are In For A Long Season
The New York Giants opened the 2025 season with a 21-6 road loss to the Washington Commanders. They have now begun 0-1 for the third consecutive year.
Quarterback Russell Wilson made his debut and did not look any better than the carousel of quarterbacks the team had in 2024. Wilson completed 17 of 27 passes for 168 yards while being sacked twice and hit a total of eight times.
The 14-year veteran had to use his legs to rack up 33 yards on five carries while his running backs accounted for just 30 yards on 15 carries.
After a summer filled with good vibes, the New York Giants, who canceled Jaxson Dart’s media availability after Sunday’s loss, look like a team that is going to have a long season.
Things won’t be any easier as the Giants stay on the road with another NFC East matchup against the Cowboys coming up, who are coming off a loss to the Eagles 24-20 on Thursday night.
