I found this at a flea market, and the seller had no idea what it was. It intrigued me. Does anyone know what it is?

What I had casually picked up was an old medical scarificator, a tool once used for b.l σodletting. With a hidden spring, those tiny b.l αdes would shoot out for a split second, slicing the skin in neat, controlled c.u ŧs. Doctors believed that draining “bad” b.l σod could cure headaches, fevers, infections, even emotional distress. People submitted to it trusting it was science, not knowing how little was truly understood.
