Taylor Swift Fans Urge Her To Break Up With Travis Kelce

Taylor Swift fans have urged the star to break up with her now-fiancé, Travis Kelce, following his ‘disgusting’ comments.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce broke the internet yesterday (August 26) with the announcement of their engagement.

The 35-year-old singer shared a collection of sweet snaps on Instagram of the two looking loved-up, as the NFL star popped the all-important question.

She captioned the post: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”

The high-profile pair have been together since July 2023, after they started dating while Swift was in the throes of her now world-famous Eras tour.

And given Swift’s numerous songs about cheating exes and subpar boyfriends, Swifties everywhere are overjoyed that the star is finally getting to live out her ‘Love Story.’

But it wasn’t too long ago that some devoted fans were calling for Swift to ditch the Kansas City Chiefs star, after he allegedly made some ‘disgusting’ comments at the 2025 Super Bowl.

Taking to social media, one person said: “Taylor, girl, you better run.”

Another added: “I would break up with him immediately.”

“Run Taylor, run!” commented a third fan. “Travis Kelce has a character flaw (as we all do) but this is a pretty big one.”

It all started before the big game when Kelce was asked about Donald Trump’s upcoming attendance.

He responded: “It’s a great honor, no matter who the president is,” before adding: “I’m excited because it’s the biggest game of my life, you know, and having the president there – it’s the best country in the world so it’d be pretty cool.”

This reaction did not sit well with Swifties, particularly given Swift’s well-documented opposition to Trump.

One fan fumed: “Any self-respecting MAN doesn’t say something like that about someone who has been this disgusting to your partner. Taylor should dump his a**.”

The singer publicly endorsed Kamala Harris during the last U.S. election.

But some fans defended the sports star, noting that as an NFL player, he’s likely advised to remain apolitical.

One fan said: “Considering how targeted Taylor has been the last few years, this response to me shows neutrality and he is being careful to not say something that will make Taylor a target… ‘No matter who the president is’ says it all in my opinion.”

Another wrote: “He was speaking on behalf of his team and fans, and he would have said the same thing regardless of who the president was.”

And an inside source revealed that Swift herself wasn’t bothered by her beau’s claims.

They told the Daily Mail: “Taylor is not angry at Travis for what he said.”
